Are we allocated start times?
No, start times are not allocated, all riders will start at sunset (9:00pm for the 100 milers and 9:30pm for the 65 milers) in groups of 15, approx 2 mins apart
Do I need lights?
All entrants must have two front lights (1 as back up). and also a rear light, entrants who do not come with two front lights will NOT be allow to ride.
Is the event insured?
Cycle Sportives UK has public liability insurance to cover such events. This however does not cover personal injury or rider 3 party (if you cause an accident); if this is of concern we would recommend that you take out personal insurance to cover all eventualities.
Will I have to navigate?
The route will be fully signed with the signs be HI-Viz and A3 in size with addition of Class 1 Reflective tape to illuminate the way along the entire course. It may however to wise to familiarise yourself with the general route prior to departure. Will have a central phone number which you can ring if you think you are lost, and also a route map will be handed out at the sign in desk.
Can friends and family support on route?
As we are providing back-up facilities we must insist that your supporters, friends and family do not bring any vehicles out on the route to follow as this will create congestion and will be a danger to cyclists and other road users. We are keen to encourage support at the start and finish.
Do I need to bring food?
There will be food provided at food station, if however you have any particular requirements it may be best to bring what you need or require. Sky Blue cafe will also be serving hot and cold food and drink through out the night but will be chargeable.

Become a Volunteer
Here at CSUK, we pride ourselves on organising the best cycling events in Norfolk. Providing our riders with an unforgettable experience coupled with a safe and enjoyable day. It takes a dedicated team of staff, family members and volunteers in different roles to make them happen.
Staff members take on many critical tasks. From helping at registration, marshalling, to managing feed stations, there is so much you can do to help make these rides a success. Our volunteers are fully supported, briefed and advised by one of our team, so you will always be in good hands.
Can I help and ride?
As a thank-you, we offer all our volunteers the opportunity to ride our events for free. Depending on the role you would like to help with, we can either offer volunteers the opportunity to help for a couple of hours in the morning then ride that event or to help all day and ride a different event later in the year.
Do I need to be a cyclist?
Definitely not. We need friendly individuals to help at the start and finish, feed stations, registration desks and marshalling. No cycling experience is needed.
How much time will I need to commit?
This depends on what you will be doing. Our rides are usually on a Saturday or Sunday involving an early start, but you can decide how much time you would like to commit. Some volunteers help out for a couple of hours while others stay for the whole day.
How do I get involved?

CHASE THE RISING SUN - NIGHT SPORTIVE
Come and join us and take part in this hugely popular sportive as we embark once again on the lovely warm summer night roads of North Norfolk – and quite literally Chase the Rising Sun !
NEW FOR 2017 :
ALL NEW ROUTE - ALL NEW DESIGN - ADDITIONAL ROUTE OPTION ADDED - ADDITIONAL FEED-ZONE ADDED
**100 mile route option**
**65 mile route option**
** No more bus transfers**
** 2 x Feedzones **
With over 400 cyclists taking to the night roads in 2016 - this was a truly memorable event.
Now in its 3rd year, we are expecting to sell out fast with this one as the interest levels have been incredible, and with only 750 spaces up for grabs across the two distances, be sure to get your places booked up quickly.
You will be setting off from Cromer Cliffs outside Blue Sky Cafe at sunset (appox 9:00pm) (9:30 for the 65 milers) with the sunset in the background. Once you leave Cromer you will follow the coast road through to Mundesley, leaving the sun setting behind you. After you hit Bacton and the sights of the gas terminal you will now head back to Cromer for the 1st feed-zone via North Walsham
After the feedzone you will head inland via Felbrigg, Erpingham, Alysham, and past the beautiful Blickling Hall. You will now be half way in to this loop and heading onto Saxthorpe, Briston and then the turn for the coast, and back towards Cromer for the all new 2nd feed-zone.
The 3rd and final section! This heads out west and up the biggest hill in Norfolk 'Link's Hill' AKA 'Sandy lane' now onto the coast road tapping out a good cadence you will soon be at Langham making the run for home. You will be now chasing the rising sun !! Can you get to Cromer before the sun rises?
(The 65 miler will miss out the inland loop)
As well as our fully stocked feed zone, Blue Sky Cafe will also be open all night offering a fine array of choices at this unique event – so remember to bring some pennies for that extra treat you might fancy !
